My name is Tom Pacheco. I’m a 30 year old guy from New Hampshire, USA.  I had been working in the Engineering field for almost 6 years and if you’re like I was, you’re always looking for an exit strategy to get out of that 9-5 grind.  Not only was I looking for financial freedom, but the time freedom that came along with it.  The time to enjoy my family and do the things that I really wanted to do.  Someone once told me “Tom, take a look at the lifestyle of some of the people who have been in your profession 10-15 years longer than you.  If you want that lifestyle, keep doing what you’re doing, if not, you need to do something different.”

Well, I took a look around me at the lifestyle some of the other engineers and managers were living….and YEAUP! It was time to do something different!!

Since that day, I have been on a quest to find better ways to build my business. I have been fortunate to come across some wonderful mentors and as a result am much closer to achieving my dream of financial freedom.

At first I was looking into Real Estate Investing.  Just like most people out there, I got caught up in a late night infomercial, and spent thousands on real estate courses. And yes like more than 90% of the people that do just that, I never made much money in it….

Well, at one of the real estate seminars I met someone that introduced me to a different type of Network Marketing company.  The concept of Network Marketing, the idea of being able to start on an equal playing field as everyone else, have the opportunity to work my way up to the top, earning the financial and time freedom I’ve been looking for was definitely appealing.

Sounds good huh? Yeah, problem was, I WAS THE BIGGEST SKEPTIC OUT THERE!! LOL…I was actually kind of mean to the woman who was showing us her opportunity as I rudely interrupted her saying “That’s one of those Pyramid Deals! Yeah, I’ve seen that before, you have to sucker all your friends into it and get them to buy soap online!”…..

Sound familiar??  Okay, I know you’ve never heard anyone say that to you before (ha ha).  Long story short, I looked at it a few different times, did my research, and said “Heck, what do I have to lose.” and from that point on, joining FDI was The Best Financial Decision I had ever made.  Now that I know what Network Marketing is, I now realize how IGNORANT I was!

Well, there is really one reason why I got started in Network Marketing.  When I was growing up as a kid, I was involved in hockey, soccer, baseball, wrestling, you name it.  Out of all those years growing up as a child, I can count on one hand how many times my father was there for me.  As a young child I didn’t understand.  I would ask my mother where “Daddy” was and the response was “he’s working.”  He was the Dad that worked 60,70,80 hours a week to support his family.  I never had that “father-son” relationship growing up.  And now that I’ve started a family of my own, I am going to be that Dad that is always there to drop my son off at school in the morning, pick him up in the afternoon, be at all of his games and support him in everything that he wants to do.  My son Owen, is my driving force…what is yours?
